Meet Sophie!
She was born with Bilateral Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency, but when she was born, the doctors didn’t know what was wrong. Her condition affects her hips and legs—her right hip is basically absent — and it causes her legs to grow unevenly. She’s also missing parts of her hip, ankle, and knee due to fibular hemimelia and hip dysplasia that she also has. It also affects her back, causing scoliosis.
Along with that, Sophie has global developmental delay and autism. Because of all this, she needs help with things like walking, bracing, and other daily activities, and she sees several specialists to help maintain her health.
Even with everything she faces, Sophie continues to shine. She’s one of the smartest and strongest kids you’ll ever meet. Sophie loves spending time with her little sister, family, and her Grandma. She loves Elvis (her favorite and knows everything about him!), Michael Jackson, doing hair, and cheerleading. She’s our little rockstar and lights up every room she’s in!
We can’t wait to take Sophie and her family to Disney World with the help of Jersey Mikes, Kroger, Planet Fitness, Masco, Kinetyc, Emagine Theatres, Canterbury Village, Village of Rochester, Glenlore Trails and our charitable partner Angels of Hope!
Each child that Jay’s Juniors has had the privilege to help has a unique and inspiring story. Listen to an exclusive audio clip from the Jay Towers in the Morning show, where Jay talks about the child’s story and the impact Jay’s Juniors has had on their life. We invite you to get to know these incredible kids and celebrate their strength and joy with us.
